I do not know why we have to reinvent the wheel. White is just a pan European identity that is all it is and it works fine with that.

Texas had a different culture. We are less Anglo-Saxon and more -Saxon-Mexicano.
Our founding was a bit different than the 13 colonies. People who moved to what would become Texas, had to give up their American citizenship and become Catholic, to become land owners.
The Texas independence was more of a Mexican civil war, where the winners gained independence from the Mexican Empire.
