I think it's necessary to punish the Trump movement for its failures, and it would be better for the American Right in the long run. I'm always told that we can't have a Democrat majority or another Democrat in office.
But the issue is: what's the urgency ? If you're not a white nationalist, why does immigration matter that much? If you're not a white nationalist, why can't anyone be an American ? What is the genetic basis for being an American ? Is it "heritage Americanism" being of Anglo-Protestant founding stock ? That would disqualify the vast majority of white Americans, so I doubt anyone wants to go down that road, and no one seems to care about that distinction.
You could make the pragmatic burning platform argument Jared makes that immigrant groups have a higher chance of being fiscally bad for America in the long run but you can't really do that because Trumpism claims to reject the deficit hawk attitude of Paul Ryanism, which Greer is a frequent critic of. Trump is responsible for almost a quarter of America's debt, so if you're still behind him, I question how much that actually matters to you.

However, punishing the administration which has done more for white people than any other is textbook nose cutting face spiting behavior. White Nationalism is not the only ideology for those who dislike immigration/migration, or want Western Civ to remain vital.
For example there are plenty of Chinese who are not Chinese (Han) Nationalists who would HATE the idea of a million Nigerians setting up in their city. That doesn't make them nationalist...it makes them race realist. They are not operating on an ideology, they are operating on a tribe-vs-outsider mindset. Only white people would give this ancient outlook an ideology like "white nationalism".
