Merry Christmas!
In the latest UNLOCKED Mailbag, Scott Greer answers questions about retaking the Panama Canal, Christmas, right-wing criticism of nationalism, overpopulation, college football, and much more!
John Chandler
What are your thoughts on Trump's comments regarding the Panama Canal?
I agree that there are problems with the current owners. It is an idea for us to retake it. We built it and paid for it. Panama just (poorly) maintains it. We gave it away because it was considered too costly to deal with left-wing guerrillas who would attack it. The threat of Marxist rebels in Latin America has greatly diminished since the Cold War. Panama is doing a terrible job of keeping it up. America would do a better job of running it, and it would serve the national interest to retake it.
However, I’m skeptical we will get it back. Barring some global crisis to justify it (say China invades Taiwan), I don’t see the government going for it. Trump would have to exert a lot of pressure on Panama to give it up. The canal is the biggest contributor to Panama’s treasury. They wouldn’t just give it up. Congress may balk at the prospect as well.
But one can dream.
What would a king or dictator Scott Greer do to fix the 36 trillion dollars in debt America has?
You would have to target two areas that are very unpopular to cut: entitlements and defense. But it’s necessary to do. Raising the retirement age would do a lot to save America money, as well as undermine the demand for migrants. You could increase the requirements to receive disability and Medicaid. You could ban migrants from government assistance. You could draw down the American troop presence in various parts of the world and cut down on the size of the military. You could also eliminate useless government agencies, such as HUD and the Department of Education. These would go some way to getting the debt under control, but they would all prove to be unpopular. The only way to solve the debt is through authoritarianism unbeholden to the public. Since that’s very unlikely, we likely won’t do anything about the debt.
It’s far more popular to do nothing about the debt than anything about it. No one actually wants to cut government.
What does a proper Greerhead Christmas look like?
Being with family, opening presents around the Christmas tree, going to church, not watching the Jim Carrey Grinch or Elf, and listening to traditional Christmas tunes. It’s pretty simple.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you Scott and all greer heads. Take some time to enjoy this holiday season and be whitepilled about the future!
Someone who is getting cope this year is Jenna Ellis. The worst in my opinion. Scott can you please trash her as my xmas gift!
Absolutely! Jenna Ellis continuing to exist as a thing is an abomination. This 40-something single deserves the biggest L for 2024. She backed DeSantis throughout the primary, and lost. She cut a deal in multiple cases over the 2020 election to testify Trump and his supporters. She vowed to never vote for Trump this year, claiming she was the typical undecided voter. Most undecided voters aren’t incompetent lawyers (a thing she admitted in court) involved in Stop the Steal, who then turn against Trump. For some reason, despite having no talent, intelligence, or likability, she still hosts a radio show. In a just world, she would be working at a McDonald’s. Instead, too many conservatives still lend her credibility. She has proven to be wrong about everything. Sadly, that’s no black mark in the world of conservative politics.

Can you give your thoughts on the right-wing critique of nationalism, or at least certain forms of nationalism? Even prior to the Russo-Ukraine War, I've always found certain small-state nationalisms and nationalist movements like Latvian, Estonian, Irish, etc. to be quite irritating and quite delusional about their importance. In my opinion, these movements allow themselves to be easily co-opted by larger powers, especially the GAE. Curious to hear your thoughts.
Many right-wingers imagine that we just need every little country to be nationalist and then we will have world peace. The problem is that none of these countries can defend themselves, so they have to turn to an imperial power to back them up. None of these little European countries can exert themselves. Their “sovereignty” is all dependent on the American empire. Latvians get to speak Latvian in their country, but then they beg for more American control over their country. Is this what nationalism is supposed to be about?
Not all nationalism is equal. Nationalism is good when it stops immigration and supports your people’s traditional culture. But it’s bad when it makes your country utterly dependent on a foreign power. Large nations are always going to compete for power and dominance. People are not going to simply be content to have their own arbitrary-drawn border by an international confederation of nationalists. It’s not really our concern if these tiny countries have their own country as they can never truly be sovereign. They will always depend on a foreign power. This is worth its own IQ supplement for further review.
Can you help us understand what in God's name has happened to Britain? It by far has the worst government and media in the Western world. It also now has surprisingly some of the lowest living standards in the Western world (outside of London and the Home Counties). I first noticed how "Americanized" Britain has become back when I was in college and saw "Love Actually" when it came out in theaters. I consider this movie to be once of the most important pieces of art to come out of Britain in my lifetime (I'm serious when I say this) as it made a statement to the entire world that we are now this feminized, multicultural experiment. They basically tried to copy post-Cold War America without the resources and wealth to actually do this. Now we see the results. Wanted to get your take on this.
The Americanization of Britain is a topic too large to discuss in this mailbag and is worthy of its own podcast. However, I can answer why their government sucks so much. They really have the worst electoral system in the West. It’s not a proportional system, so third parties are disadvantaged. But unlike our system, party leaders control who gets to run for individual seats. They don’t have primaries. Just imagine if Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell completely controlled the GOP, and that explains the Tories. Party discipline is better maintained and there is zero chance a Trump could take over the Tories. Third parties are significantly disadvantaged because they lack the resources to compete in many of the seats. They could get 20 percent of the vote and only a few seats because the candidate who wins is the one who gets the most votes in their respective district. This allows the status quo to continue on. Britain also doesn’t protect free speech, which makes it harder to dissent from the status quo. Dozens of people were arrested this year over supporting citizen demonstrations against immigration. The English (note, English, not British) are probably some of the most right-wing people in Europe, but the system gives them little options to express their views. They’re stuck with the three terrible parties.

New England Refugee expressed the opinion on Wednesday that there are too many people and the low birthrate was God or nature correcting this fault. In lieu of this, why do you think there’s a noticeable Cornucopian-Malthusian divide between the normie right and the so-called “dissident” right(outside of Alex Jones types)?
Normal people find “depopulation” talk unsettling and think the more the merrier. It’s never popular to say some people are naturally worse than others and we shouldn’t worry about them reproducing. We’re expected to believe that all people have inherent equal worth and should build a society around that principle. NEF’s opinion, as most of ours, go against that current. The normie right still believes in the core principles of mainstream society, the Dissident Right does not.
Before it was called “going Joker mode” it was called “going postal”. I admittedly can’t talk from experience but being a postal worker seems like it would be one of the better jobs, why do you think it was post offices specifically that incurred such an epidemic of violence (mostly in the 90s) and why do you think that’s mostly ceased from postal workers specifically?
Honestly, I don’t know. I would imagine more people would strike out at their workplaces now than in the past. But workplace mass shootings seem to be a thing of the past. Maybe people just learned to quit jobs they hate, maybe jobs got better at spotting would-be “postal” cases. Every other place in America is now subject to mass shootings, so it’s weird workplaces seem like the lone exception. Maybe it’s because mass shooters now no longer work.
What’s your opinion on Trump’s alleged recent proposition to privatize the USPS?
An interesting idea with all of USPS’s problems but I doubt it will happen. The union would strongly oppose and Trump’s got other things to take care of.
Most Americans today are not very bright, to put it mildly. Do you think the Trump admin should put serious money and backing into RND and for a literal IQ supplement for mass distribution? I feel this may be necessary to solve the competency crisis short term.
This can only be solved through the best and brightest having more kids. I don’t trust a pill to solve this problem.

Scott the sports question returns. Can a Greerhead watch college football and bet on it? This weekend I watched the Ohio State Buckeyes play the Tennessee Volunteers. Scott I don't know what happened and would have lost many dollars on this game. Did Ohio State just have the smarter White quarterback, or did Tennessee's other players mess up Scott? As you said no SEC Team seems to have a White quarterback.
You can definitely watch college football but I don’t recommend sports betting. It’s a guaranteed way to lose money and it will suck up all your attention and focus. Ohio State just played better than UT. Nothing more complex than that.
Merry Christmas all!
