Messaging tough on crime policy in a clear and effective way. No more Koch brothers libertarian garbage. More of how Jeff Landry, Greg Abbott, and Ron Desantis have messaged on crime in Louisiana, Texas, and Florida. The Koch brothers did generational damage to the Republican party. The Republican GOP patient is in recovery. Basically Trump's rhetoric during the 2024 campaign on crime with actual policy follow through at the local, state, and national levels.

The main exception to this over the last few years is Texas where the state has shifted to the right in 2022 and 2024 despite being now almost 61-62% minority according to estimates. Same with Florida. In every other case Scott is correct. Texas and Florida basically have the most conservative Latinos in the country.

Obviously being a Republican state is not a fix as the day to day living conditions in the democratic locally run urban cities and counties of Texas and Florida are probably some of the worst places in the whole country. Maybe the crime surge of the 2020, 2021, and 2022 has caused many Latinos to shift right.
