I’d like to thank AI & data centers for taking the attention of panicked brainlets off of nuclear.

Personally I don’t get the panic. They don’t loon great, but they bring jobs, income, don’t look as bad as those giant windmills, and from what I’ve heard the fact that they require such insane ammounts of electricity means that the town gets cheaper electricity because what the town needs is a miniscule fraction so they benefit from a sort of economy of scale effect.

I appreciate your controversial and brave take on data centers, Scott. You’re 100% correct to link it to anti-property tax sentiment.

They both come from a slopulist viewpoint that doesn’t consider economics or second-order consequences.

Race is by far the only issue that matters to the American Left and the Democratic Party. They know that someone who has been arrested over 50 times and is out on pretrial bond or probation for murder or other violent crimes will kill or maim again. That is the point. They believe that violent criminals have earned the right to be above the law because of racial reasons. If Democrats and the Left were offered single payer medicare for all in exchange for stopping their insane criminal justice and pro DEI policies they would never accept it. The animating feature of the American Left is anti White racism (along with to a lesser extent anti Asian and anti Latino racism because they now see those two groups as White adjacent).

Race is the number one issue because tribalism is the default condition.

"I'm still pro Tucker". Um...okay. Says you can't be pro white, cause civil war or something. Says he talks to demons. Says one of the best presidents we've ever had is controlled by dark forces. Lied his ass off about Iran. Pals around with a guy (Dugin) who wants us destroyed, takes money from a Qatari, says Pakistanis are more well behaved than white people (rape gang much?), wants a theocracy with a ban on all fun. Yeah, not that Greer would care (I'm effin' nobody) but I think we're done here. Like...forever...

I think this is more personal for Scott. He doesn’t want to publicly criticize Tucker because Tucker helped him in the past. If Scott were a TRUE ONLINE right winger, he wouldn’t care about that and would shit on him at every opportunity

You have to also understand that for many 90s millennials, Tucker's show on Fox News (through his show clips on Youtube and Twitter) from 2016 to 2023 is the first exposure 90s millennials had to paleoconservative ideas. Most now on the Right have extreme good will to Tucker because his show was a wake up call for many. Tucker's Fox show broke records, and is one of the highest rated programs in cable TV history. Tucker would compare Joy Reid and MSNBC to Radio Rwanda, and would show extremely graphic clips of violent crime in large cities in front of millions of people nationwide every night on his show.

That Tucker, gone he is, replaced by the demon hunter. He's more conspiratard now than man. Twisted and evil.

Agreed. The loyalty is, of course, one sided. Look at what Tucker did to poor Blake Neff (over nothing) and that was back when Tucker was sane and had interesting things to say. Tucker thinks people like Scott are just as much a danger to America as the 'wicked Zionists'. I wouldn't be surprised, if push came to shove, to see Tucker turn tail and besmirch Peter Brimelow (despite having him on his show recently) the same as he did with Fuentes. The difference being, Fuentes deserved it. Bottom line, there is no daylight at this point between Tucker and your average critical pedo theorist. In some ways, it's worse with Tucker...because he's educated, intelligent and ought to know better. In fact, he does know better. It's a cynical grift. We've fallen very far from wage controls, bringing manufacturing back on shore, and punishing companies for introducing driverless cars (the sensible things Carlson used to promote). Quite frankly, we need a little more MAGA slopulism and a little less 'loyal dissent' (as if).

I am starting to think that Blake Neff was Tucker's brain.

More data centers = more Indians.

SAY NO SCOTT!!!!

That’s totally backwards. AI means annihilating low-end tech jobs ie the ones that H1B visas dominate.

Data centers on the other hand are built by skilled tradesmen ie the jobs dominated by white men.

Plus the increased energy demand means more demand for energy infrastructure and utilities, again great for our core population.

Gaddius's avatar

You’re just wrong dude. I’m in central Ohio & a skilled tradesman. Sure, the initial investment & jobs that come with building these things are great. But every single time more of them are imported into the area, displacing the people who were already there.

Think of how many jobs that h-1b’s take already that are unnecessary for them to even leave India, yet here they are. You’re looking at things rationally and not taking into account ethnic resentment, spite & nepotism.

More data centers = more dots.

Nitro's avatar

No, you’re just misinterpreting your “anecdata”. Data centers aren’t driving the influx. It’s chain migration that’s causing the problem. Indians established their population here well before the current AI capex buildout started in 2023, and once a population is established chain migration makes it much stickier.

You could end data center construction tomorrow and it would do nothing to change immigration patterns. Well, it would change them by crashing the economy and putting democrats in power who would reverse the public charge rule, speed up visa approvals, increase naturalization rates, etc.

Data centers are screwing up my line of work because they're hogging all of the PCB materials. Otherwise, I don't have many issues.
