Hey Scott, do you have any thoughts on gay-signaling affectations and mannerisms among upper and upper middle class straight men? Gay-voice, snooty cattiness, general effeminacy, etc.
You’d think half or more of the dudes at my office were homos, but then they show me pics of their kids. It reminds me of the dandy and powdered wig era, and I am under the impression that Roman elites used androgyny to signal their elitism during their decedent phase, but I don’t have a source for that.
And any book recommendations you have about the decedent phase in cultures, and Roman culture in particular, would be appreciated!
