Haitian migrants are still in the news, in spite of a second assassination attempt against Donald Trump. Millions of Americans are in disbelief that these Caribbean migrants are taking over Middle American towns. The Trump campaign is wisely focusing on this issue to highlight the disastrous immigration policies of the Biden-Harris administration.
But some naysayers are emerging who say nothing can be done about this issue. Liberals love to point out that most of the Haitians are here legally. That’s made some conservatives feel the problem is unfixable and that the issue has turned into a toxic matter. Those blackpillers are wrong–these Haitians can still be removed from the country if Trump gets a second term.
Oilfield Rando, a popular conservative X account, argued that there was no real political solution here. “The only way to stop what’s happening to towns like Springfield is to end asylum protections and temporary protected status’. Which would require a GOP supermajority in Congress, and even then it would be iffy because Chamber of Commerce republicans might block it,” he tweeted. “I want to see a political solution here but I don’t see it.”
There are a few who object to the rhetoric used in this situation. PoliMath, another popular conservative X user, mocked right-wingers for allegedly having no solutions to the Haitian issue and engaging in “racism.”
Trump and his supporters, however, are offering solutions. “As President I will immediately end the migrant invasion of America,” the former president said in a TruthSocial post outlining a plan. “We will stop all migrant flights, end all illegal entries, terminate the Kamala phone app for smuggling illegals (CBP One App), revoke deportation immunity, suspend refugee resettlement, and return Kamala’s illegal migrants to their home countries (also known as remigration).”
This was a solid and coherent framework. The one item that demands clarification is “revoke deportation immunity.” This could mean a lot of things. Haitians are eligible for temporary protected status, which gives them deportation protection due to their homeland being deemed unsafe. As the name attests, it’s supposed to be temporary. However, many migrants stay here for decades thanks to TPS. Oilfield Rando is right in that it would take an act of Congress to end the program entirely. However, the president can expel whatever group he wishes from TPS.
Trump sought to kick off many migrants from TPS when he was a president. This resulted in a lengthy legal battle, but eventually a federal court ruled that the president has the power to expel migrants from the program.
Migrants on TPS are prevented from gaining a green card, which makes it even easier to deport them. The Supreme Court upheld this principle in a 2021 decision.
It should be noted that many of these Haitians are coming here through Biden’s parole program. Starting nearly two years ago, the program allows 30,000 migrants per month to come to the U.S. Venezuelans, Cubans, Haitians, and Nicaraguans are the four eligible nationalities. This program’s intent is to give would-be illegals a legal pathway in the country. It was supposed to decrease illegal migration, a mission it failed miserably to achieve. Trump can, of course, end the program immediately once he is president. This will make it easier to keep the Caribbeans out of the country.
The complaints over “racism” in response to the matter are stupid. Discourse over the Haitians demonstrates significant progress on the Right. No longer are prominent conservatives and politicians cowed into avoiding the issue. Now they are addressing the matter of mass migration in identitarian terms. More and more conservatives recognize that Haitians are fundamentally incompatible with American civilization. Donald Trump Jr. offered a race realist explanation for why this is. “You look at Haiti, you look at the demographic makeup, you look at the average I.Q. — if you import the third world into your country, you’re going to become the third world,” he said in a recent interview. It would be unthinkable for a prominent conservative to make such an argument a few years ago. In 2024, it finds a large and enthusiastic audience.
Jr.’s father is introducing the concept of “remigration” to the American public. This is a necessary idea to make America great again. We will need to deport many migrants here to restore our national greatness. Trump doesn’t shy away from this. He takes a solid idea from European nationalists and makes it relevant to our situation.
Even the cat memes are a positive thing. For too long, we’ve been politically correct about such matters. It was considered uncouth and prejudiced to mention that these migrants don’t share our customs and are open to eating pets/sacrificing them to their strange gods. (New York City is currently dealing with rising cases of animal sacrifice done by migrant cults.) This is horrific to Americans, but it wasn’t brought to their attention out of fear it would encourage “racism.” That worry is no longer apparent on the Right–and that’s a good thing.
If you’re a conservative and crying over “racism” towards Haitians, you are the embodiment of cuckservatism. You don’t understand what really matters and are too beholden to liberal dogmas to properly address our country’s real problems.
There’s no need to be pessimistic over the Haitian migrants. The Right’s fixation on this matter is waking up millions of Americans to the problem. It solidifies Trump’s campaign message that Biden’s open borders pose an existential threat to this country and only Trump can solve the problem. If he gets another term, Trump can put an end to mass Haitian migration. Getting it done is only a matter of will.
Hey Scott,
Good informative article as always. However, I believe you are missing a “to” after “beholden” in “are too beholden liberal dogmas”
