A close friend of mine worked as an intern for the Mark Robinson campaign this past summer. You wouldn’t believe some of the stories he has. Seems like it was a pretty dysfunctional campaign from the start
Reverse coattails aren't really a thing. No way Trump loses NC because of Robinson. Besides, if VA is close as multiple polls show, and Trump is up in GA, he will win NC easily. NC ain't voting to the left of GA. And similar states move together.
In addition, Governatorial elections are very different animals from federal elections, and tend to be much less partisan. That's why you find Republican governors in MA, MD, and VT, and Dem governors in KY, NC, and LA.
Furthermore, Trump won NC easily in the environment of 2020 when he "lost" all the other swing states. NC had/has a dem governor and had very loose mail-in ballot rules in 2020 (with half the country afraid to leave their homes because of Covid) and he still won it. 90% chance he wins it in 2024.

Scott, as a heavy metal fan you should look up “Hail Cobra - Infometal” I’m sure you’d get a kick out of it. Sums up the democrat platform pretty well
