Trump became the first president to be arrested this week. This historical milestone underscores the importance of Trump’s 2024 aspirations. The regime fears him more than any other candidate–that’s why the corrupt system wants him in jail.
The persecution of Trump demonstrates why his 2024 bid is the best cause for the Right to rally around.
Many on our side seek a grand project to champion. They feel that this will focus the Right’s energies in a positive direction and counteract the Left’s moral power. This sentiment was captured in a tweet posted last week in response to the Trump indictment.
This argument has some merit, but there are practical points against it. For one, ordinary Republicans are mostly motivated by the desire to be left alone. It underpins most of what they support, from low taxes to hostility to COVID lockdowns. Even the radical ideas that may attract the interest of ordinary Republicans–such as National Divorce–are about leaving them alone. This isn’t meant to condemn average Republicans. The desire to be left alone can spur good things, such as concern over crime, wokeness in schools, and opposition to insidious COVID mandates. This is just observing reality. Most of our people are not deeply ideological. To motivate them, you have to address things that are actually affecting their lives and communities. They’re not in the mood for grand ideological projects.
The source for this project would likely be the Internet Right, a conglomeration of various niche ideologies that don’t like the state of the modern West. It would be hard for these factions to agree on a shared grand project. Some want a theocracy (with further disagreements over which denomination should be in charge), some want an ethnostate, some want a monarchy, some want no state at all. None of these projects hold much appeal to ordinary Americans, nor do they have any chance of emanating in the real world sometime soon.
A cause is needed to unite right-wingers and appeal to normies. There’s a whole lot of blackpilling and infighting due to the lack of a clear objective or focus. Rather than seek an airy ideal that will only appeal to extremely online types, it’s better to look for something more down to earth. Something that will be on a ballot next year. Something may have a shot of occupying the White House. Obviously, that something is Donald J. Trump.
I can already see the angry reader comments about how Trump was the WORST PRESIDENT EVER because he didn’t put every libtard in a prison camp. We all know Trump is not perfect. We all know about his follies and letdowns. We all know that he can’t single-handedly save our civilization in four short years. But he’s the best we’ve got and the only one capable of moving American politics in the right direction.
Trump’s 2024 pitch is what we want to hear. He vows he’s the retribution against the perfidy of the Biden regime. He insists the real threat posed to America isn’t from China or Russia but from our own corrupt leaders. He pledges to restore law and order and institute mass deportations. He’s the only Republican firmly committed to ending the war in Ukraine and pardoning J6ers. He’s also one of the few to directly address the threat of anti-white racism. He still retains the loyalty of millions of Americans who will follow him wherever he leads. The Globalist American Empire’s worst nightmare is to see Trump back in the White House.
The other alternative is Ron DeSantis, a conventional Republican completely bereft of charisma. DeSantis has done some nice things in Florida, but he has no dynamism or insurgent energy. He’s too eager to please the many factions who see him as the great Trump killer. His Ukraine stance is indicative of that. His stance on the war is whatever his individual supporters want it to be. His neocon supporters think he supports America’s current policy. His non-interventionist supporters think he wants a complete withdrawal. The governor’s ambiguous statements support both points. DeSantis’s achievements in Florida are largely overstated as well. His chief appeal is restoring the GOP to its pre-Trump state. He’s better than past Republicans, but DeSantis is still a standard politician. He’s not a cultural force like Trump. DeSantis is incapable of serving as a populist leader.
The arguments for DeSantis are akin to supporting Ted Cruz back in 2016. Cruz had some good policies as well, but he was certainly not the leader. This is just an argument for the old GOP status quo to reign supreme again.
There are those who say we shouldn’t focus on conventional politics. They will argue for something along the lines of creating culture or building BASED communities. These things would be nice, but it seems no one actually does them. They just talk about them to claim they’re better than ordinary politics. In any case, conventional politics does not preclude you from engaging in these activities. There’s no need to give up the political struggle to create community or culture. Too often these arguments are a form of intellectual retreat. Most people who leave politics just focus on their own personal hobbies rather than writing the Great Redpilled Novel. It’s not something to rally people around. It’s more like telling people to give up on politics and accept the world we live in.
That’s unacceptable.
Conservatives and nationalists need something to focus on for the time being. Maybe one day there will be a grand project that can unite normie Republicans and internet memesmiths. That day is not today. The best thing we have is Trump.
The odds are stacked against Trump’s re-election, but the odds were also stacked against his election in 2016. The difference here is that his victory again would be an even bigger blow to the regime. That prospect alone should make the Right eager to stand with Trump once more.
IMO Scott, you must never remove “I will not watch the NFL” from The Greerhead Pledge
It really does roll everything bad about American mainstream culture into one package
And most of your audience is millennial or younger, should not be wasting 4+ hours every Sunday for one game, let alone the whole day. These are the years that will shape the trajectory of the rest of your life
The Great Redpilled Novel: Written by Cormac McCarthy, inspired by "Left Behind in Rosedale" and "Race War in High School", it'll be even trippier than his last two books and it'll be narrated from the perspective of an owl.
In the "readers also enjoyed" section of the goodreads page on "Race War in High School", the first one on the list is "Blood Meridian", so the audience is there.
