Lest we give the young people too much credit, we whould remember that they are woefully ignorant, pathetically educated but also puffed up with inflated ideas of their own brilliance becaause their teachers have saturated them with assurances that they are "the most educated generation in history."

The same silly but flattering idea has been used to seduce people into believing what the System "teaches" them for generations. I heard it back in the 1960s but had sense enough to recognize it for the con game it was.

Most young people pick their political and ideological preferences the same way a woman picks out her Gucci handbag in the clothing store.

They don't really know what "socialism" is. It just sounds hp and cool so they become "socialists."

Scott - my town borders a "Super Zip". Like the other very affluent towns in my county, it has trended Democratic over the last decade+ and a majority voted for Harris in the last election. These are all people who went to good universities, moved to NYC/Hoboken/Jersey City after college and then moved to the suburbs in their late 20s/early 30s once they had kids. They now support Pride Month (which used to be a very city-only type of thing). However, they certainly DO NOT want socialism as you mentioned. They actually don't mind high property taxes as they know that these taxes go directly to the school system and stay (mostly) within their town. However, as much as they will superficially complain about the GOP cutting Medicaid, they don't really mind. A moderate Democrat like Josh Gottheimer is their ideal candidate.
